About the Role

Arcadis is the world's leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets.

We are more than 36,000 people, in over 70 countries, dedicated to improving quality of life. Everyone has an important role to play. With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.

Role Description

Our Project & Program Management Services team provides project controls leadership across some of the most complex and high‑profile mobility programs in Canada including major rail, transit, highway, and bridge infrastructure. We support clients in delivering projects that improve connectivity, advance sustainability, and enhance quality of life.

We are seeking a keen, detail‑oriented student interested in the project management and controls side of major infrastructure delivery. This role is ideal for someone who is curious about how large programs are governed, costed, scheduled, monitored, and reported, and who wants hands‑on experience contributing to real‑world outcomes.

As a Project Controls Intern, you will gain exposure to the fundamentals of cost control, schedule management, project governance, reporting, change management, and performance analytics. You will support both project‑specific assignments and BU‑level initiatives.

This is an opportunity to learn from experienced project controls professionals while contributing meaningful work on one or more projects (e.g., transit corridor programs, major bridges, highways, environmental mitigation, and multidisciplinary design‑build assignments).

Mobility

We partner with our clients across the globe to design thriving and connected cities and communities that enable opportunity for all and keep the world moving. Climate change, urbanization and digitization trends are requiring today’s mobility projects and systems to address an evolving set of demands from the world’s growing population. We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies, and optimize the mobility of people and goods.

Role Accountabilities

  • Support project documentation, cost/schedule trackers, and monthly reporting.
  • Assist in cost control activities including budget tracking, forecasting, and time‑card validation.
  • Contribute to governance, knowledge‑management, and proposal development tasks.
  • Provide general project support across major mobility projects (rail, highways, bridges).

Qualifications & Experience

  • Currently enrolled in an engineering, construction management, or project‑management related degree.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Power BI and comfort working with data and structured information.
  • Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Previous project or analytical experience (academic or work term) is an asset but not required.
