Are you a Criminal Justice major, seeking a robust internship opportunity to complete your degree? Wheeler is accepting applications for an internship opportunity to work with our AIC (Alternative in the Community) program. Apply today! We will be accepting 4 students per semester.

More about our AIC program:

Wheeler Clinic’s Alternative in the Community programs offer community-based intervention services for adults involved with the court or probation. The program uses a curriculum-driven, evidence-based model designed to assess the needs of each individual and reduce their involvement in the criminal justice system. Services include:

  • Substance use intervention
  • Trauma groups
  • Skill building
  • Employment Skills Group
  • Case management
  • Educational, basic needs and vocational supports
  • Gender-responsive programming

We serve adults in:
New Britain, Bristol, Meriden, Middletown

Adults in this program are referred by the Office of Adult Probation, the court or parole.
