About the Role

What You'll be Doing:

  • Provide assistance to the staff of Building and Development
  • Assist with the preparation of Sign and Fence Variance Reports
  • Assist Building Technician's with intake of Building Permit applications
  • Review of Pool Enclosure Permits, Sign Permits recommending issuance
  • Review of Secondary Buildings and decks recommending the issuance under supervision of Building staff
  • Assist and perform site inspections under the supervision of Manager of Inspections
  • Research, investigation and data collection analysis
  • Perform other similar and related duties, as required.

What's Required:

  • Current enrolment in and planning to return in September to a Construction or Architectural Technology post-secondary program.
  • Working knowledge of computer software including MS Office, with a strong background in MS Excel.
  • Well-developed written and verbal skills.
  • CSA approved work boots are required for construction sites.
  • Must be physically fit to perform site inspections.
  • Working knowledge of computer software applications for Microsoft Word, ACCESS, and Excel.
  • Valid Class ‘G’ driver’s license, a reliable vehicle, and good driving record.
