Job DetailsLevel: EntryJob Location: Colorado - Lakewood, CO 80215Position Type: InternshipEducation Level: Not SpecifiedSalary Range: $27.00 - $27.00 HourlyTravel Percentage: NegligibleJob Shift: DayAbout the Position  As a SCADA & Automation Engineering Intern in the SCADA & Automation Group, you will assist in performing engineering design and analysis under the guidance of a Professional Engineer. You will support client projects and help ensure quality deliverables are provided on time and within the defined budget.  Hourly Rate: $27.00/hour  The salary range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market.   Essential Responsibilities  Assist in designing retrofit or new SCADA and control systems for substations, power plants, wind farms, solar plants, and other electrical power facilities.  Help develop high-level SCADA block diagrams indicating protocols, communications media, networking, addressing, and data flow.  Support the coordination of SCADA scope on larger projects, ensuring clear communication and efficient work among vendors, owners, Telco/T1/Fiber providers, and other stakeholders.  Assist in developing a complete design package from a SCADA block diagram, including:  SCADA panel elevation drawings  Equipment Bill of Materials  Schematics and Wiring Diagrams  Data mapping and points lists  PLC, Data concentrator, firewall, managed switch, and HMI settings files  NERC CIP documentation or procedures as necessary  Assist with project planning, scheduling, and coordination for projects of all sizes.  Work with other project team members to produce project deliverables as required.  Other job-related responsibilities as assigned.  Must Have  Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred.  Experience: Relevant coursework or projects in electrical engineering or field experience is a plus.  Relevant coursework or projects in electrical engineering or field experience is a plus.  Experience with AutoCAD.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and other computer software.  Effective written and oral communication skills.  Good interpersonal and people skills.  Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.  Working Conditions  Work Environment:  Work is performed in an office setting.    Travel:  Minimal: 0 – 5%    Physical Activities:  Must be able to lift 25lbs.     About NEI Electric Power Engineering  Serving Others.
