About the Role
<h3>The Position</h3><p><span> </span><b>2026 Summer Intern - Cell and Gene Therapy Manufacturing</b></p><p></p><p><b>Department Summary</b></p><p></p><p><span>This position is part of Genentech’s Pharma Technical – Hillsboro Innovative Therapies (HIT) team working on cutting edge cell therapies.</span></p><p></p><p><span>As a member of the HIT Manufacturing team, the manufacturing intern will gain GMP manufacturing experience in grade A/B cleanrooms, learning the proper controls such as aseptic technique, gowning, cleaning and environmental monitoring. Activities include participating in the manufacture of IND-enabling engineering runs as well as clinical batches for patients. The manufacturing intern will also support validation activities of GMP process equipment, process optimization, and procedure development.</span></p><p></p><p><b><span>This internship position is located in</span> Hillsboro, on-site</b></p><p></p><p><b>The Opportunity</b></p><ul><li><p>Gain experience in cutting edge cell therapies.</p></li><li><p>Receive hands-on training from the HIT Manufacturing team.</p></li><li><p>Support HIT Manufacturing with process efficiency and optimization.</p></li><li><p>Familiarize yourself with the different departments within the pharmaceutical industry.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Program Highlights</b></p><ul><li><p><b>Intensive 6 months, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.</b></p></li><li><p><b><b>Program start dates are in</b><b> May/June (Summer) </b></b></p></li><li><p><b><b>A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. </b></b></p></li><li><p><span>Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><b>Who You Are (Required) </b></b></p><p></p><p><b><b>Required Education</b><b>: </b></b>You meet one of the following criteria:</p><ul><li><p>Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><b>Required Majors: </b></b>Biochemistry, Molecular/ Cellular Biology, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology</p><p></p><p><b><b>Required Skills: </b></b></p><ul><li><p>General computing skills and Gsuite</p></li><li><p>Experience with technical writing or protocol generation</p></li><li><p>Data analysis</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><b>Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications</b></b></p><ul><li><p><span>Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Complements our culture and the standards that guide our daily behavior & decisions: Integrity, Courage, and Passion.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Cell culture or aseptic technique experience preferred.</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><b>Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. </b></b></p><p></p><p><span>The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Oregon </span><span>is </span><span>$23.00-$28.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
