About the Role

Title: Software Engineer Intern, Applications
Location:
This position is based in our Campbell, California offices, on-site & full-time. Imperative Care does not provide relocation or additional housing compensation for the summer internship.

We are actively building a team who is focused on developing novel solutions for this complex disease – a disease in which one in four adults will face in their lifetime.

What You’ll Do
We are looking for a talented and experienced Software Engineer Intern to take part in the development of software applications and UI for the Telos robotic system. As an intern in the Applications team, you will contribute to the design, development and testing the software applications that the physician will interact with when using the Telos robotics system. You will work closely with other software engineers as well as system and UX engineers to design and implement solutions that meet clinical needs and requirements.
 
  • Design, implement and test responsive UI and non-user facing applications that include real time media rendering, complex communication and other components.
  • Participate in design and implementation of various backend features (image acquisition, recording, pipeline optimization) for the Telos robotic system.
  • Contribute to development  of the software testing and simulation environment
  • Work closely with other engineers (software, algorithms, clinical, systems, UX) as part of a focused cross-functional team developing software for a medical application.
  • Understand user needs, clinical needs & customer input requirements to drive software development
  • Participate in design discussions and code reviews.

What You’ll Bring
  • Currently pursuing an B.S., M.S, or an Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience with C++ programming and multi-threaded applications.
  • Background in object-oriented programming, software architecture, and design patterns
  • Experience with video capture and image acquisition pipelines
  • Experience with GPU programming and CUDA
  • Experience with Qt framework
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

Salary: $29/hourly for 10 week internship
