Main Purpose of the Job:
Main Duties:
A. Programme Implementation and Coordination
· Support routine monitoring of OVC programme activities to track implementation against plans and targets.
· Assist in collecting, compiling, and entering programme data from the field using approved tools and systems.
·Participate in monitoring visits and community outreach activities to support verification of reported data.
· Support coordination with programme staff, community volunteers, and service providers during data collection and follow-up.
· Assist in tracking service delivery for OVC beneficiaries and flag missing or inconsistent data to the M&E Officer.
·Support the organisation and filing of programme documentation, including attendance registers, monitoring tools, and reports.
· Assist in preparing basic activity summaries to support programme review and coordination meetings.
B. Data Management and Quality Assurance
· Assist with data entry into approved databases and tools in a timely and accurate manner.
· Conduct basic data quality checks to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency of collected data.
· Support data cleaning and organisation under the guidance of the M&E Officer.
· Help maintain updated and well-organised electronic and hard-copy M&E records.
C. Reporting, Learning, and Documentation
· Assist in compiling routine monitoring data for internal reports and donor submissions.
· Support basic data analysis, including simple counts, percentages, and trends.
· Assist in preparing tables, charts, and simple visuals using Excel, SPSS, and/or Power BI.
· Support documentation of lessons learned, challenges, and good practices from OVC programme implementation.
- Assist with preparing materials for review, learning, and coordination meetings.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Statistics or a related field
- Prior work experience required; internship, attachment, or volunteer experience in data collection or community programmes is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with NGO or community-based programmes, particularly OVC or child-focused interventions, is desirable.
Skills
- Basic skills in mobile data collection systems, data entry, and record keeping.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; working knowledge of SPSS and/or Power BI is an added advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify data errors and inconsistencies.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and with diverse stakeholders.
- High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive beneficiary information.
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and work under supervision in a fast-paced programme environment.
