About the Role

What You'll Do

There’s no better way to get hands-on experience and enhance your understanding of the professional services industry than with Cohen & Co’s internship program! Our comprehensive internship will provide you with all the tools and training you need to launch your career. There’s no coffee grabbing or mindlessly making photocopies here! You’ll get hands-on client experience, gain technical knowledge, and learn all about our ‘Great People First’ culture while building lasting relationships with your peers and firm leaders – all invested in YOU. 

 

Day in the Life: 

  • Market Research & Target Identification  
  • Conduct research to identify potential acquisition targets across defined capabilities, industries, and geographies. 
  • Build and maintain target lists using databases and industry reports. 
  • Proactive Outreach 
  •  Assist in drafting outreach emails and messages to prospective companies.  
  • Support Coordination of initial calls and meetings with target companies.  
  • Data Management 
  •  Track outreach activity and responses in Salesforce CRM. 
  • Maintain accurate records of company profiles, contact details, and engagement status.  
  • Analytical Support  
  • Prepare summary profiles of target companies, including financial metrics and strategic fit. 
  • Support the team in evaluating market trends and competitive landscapes. 
  • Establish relationships with peers, mentors, and engagement teams via sourcing strategies, firm events, and internship program experiences 
  • Develop and improve technical and professional skills by receiving and utilizing frequent feedback 
  • Participate in various firm-wide initiatives, such as business development, recruitment, DEI, community service – whatever area you’re passionate about! 

 

Internship Commitments: 

  • Internship Length: Mid - February 2026 – TBD 
  • Part-time: 10-20 hours per week, flexible around academic calendar  

Who You Are

Required: 

  • Degree: Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s    
  • Major: Finance, Business, Economics or a related field 
  • Strong interest in M&A, investment banking, or corporate strategy 
  • Detail-oriented, organized and able to manage multiple tasks independently 

 

 

Preferred: 

  • GPA: Minimum 3.0  
  • Experience in working in Salesforce CRM 
  • Previous finance internship experience   

 

Location: 

  • Cleveland, Akron, Youngstown, OH | Chicago, IL | Baltimore, MD | Denver, CO | Detroit or St. Clair Shores, MI | Philadelphia or Pittsburgh, PA | Buffalo or New York City, NY | Milwaukee, WI preferred   
  • Hybrid work environment (50% in office) 
  • Remote candidates are considered

Estimated Hourly Rate Range:  $20 - $40/hour*   

*Hourly rates offered to candidates are determined based on factors such as candidate's job responsibilities, geography, market considerations, and organizational needs.  On an annual basis, estimated ranges are re-evaluated for upcoming early career cohorts according to market adjustments.
