About the Role

Lasko has been a leader in Comfort and Health products for over 100 years.  We are looking to expand our team with a motivated Electro-Mechanical Engineering Intern at our Design Center in West Chester, PA. The summer internship will run from mid- May through mid- August.  In this position you will be important part of the Product Development team creating innovative high-quality product solutions. The Electro-Mechanical Engineering Intern will have specific project ownership and will collaborate with the cross functional product teams to develop new products as well as improve the performance of existing portfolio of products. Job Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Attend team meetings and present updates.</li> <li>Collaborate with team to brainstorm and use decision tools such as Pugh matrix for decision making</li> <li>Participate in design reviews, DMFEAs and other review meetings.</li> <li>Build 3D Models and Assemblies in Solid Works while following Lasko established build practices.</li> <li>Design plastic parts with SPI molding practices.</li> <li>Prepare drawings & STL files for prototyping purposes</li> <li>Support team in fabricating electro-mechanical product samples.</li> <li>Conduct benchmark teardowns and document findings.</li> <li>Prepare Power Point presentations and slides to communicate ideas</li> <li>Create bill of materials and preliminary cost analysis.</li> </ul> Preferred Skills and Qualifications: <ul> <li>Pursuing or a recent graduate with an Engineering degree from an accredited university.</li> <li>Minimum classes completed: Statics, Dynamics, Strength of Materials, Material Science, Statistics & Experiment/Lab Methodologies</li> <li>Courses in Basic Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or Embedded software is a plus</li> <li>Experience with MS Office tools (Word, Power Point, Excel & Outlook)</li> <li>Demonstrated experience with fabricating & testing mechanical or electro-mechanical projects.</li> <li>Experience with 3D modeling (Solid Works, Creo or similar).</li> <li>Experience with Arduino or PLC controlled systems preferred.</li> <li>Strong analytical and decision-making skills.</li> <li>Familiar with IOT, smartphone App and Wi-Fi controlled systems.</li> <li>Experienced with Bench tools: multimeter, oscilloscope, power supply and soldering Iron preferred.</li> <li>Strong Project Management/Organizational Skills</li> <li>Familiar with Project management tools such as MS Project, Smart Sheets or Jira a plus.</li> </ul>  <div class="content-conclusion">About Lasko Products  Better Air Starts Here.  Lasko Products is the leading air solutions brand with a reputation for reliable products, peak performance, and perpetual innovation – our commitment to our customers for over a century.
