Role Overview

This internship position is designed to support the Campari Data Solutions and Delivery team by contributing to the overall success of analytics initiatives. The role will involve extensive collaboration, knowledge sharing, and gaining a deep understanding of data quality processes within the company. 

In this role, you will assist in supporting the development of a reliable data catalogby learning how to establish accurate and consistent data and understanding data pipelines and their lineage. You will gain hands-on experience in areas such as data access and ingestion, data pipelines and processing, integration, modeling, database design, and data visualization, as well as an introduction to advanced analytics. 

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the data catalog, data quality framework, and data governance framework,  learning best practices in the process.  

You will work closely with both business stakeholders and technical teams, as well as project managers and external vendors.  

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Data catalog development: Support business and IT stakeholders to develop and curate a data catalog solution, developing data domains, data products and enriching data assets.  
  • Data quality issues: Assist in investigating and enhancing a data quality framework by resolving flagged data quality issues, working with the business on low data quality, and resolving theese using best practices.  
  • Data quality risks: Support the evaluation of data quality and accuracy, in order to contribute to create plans to mitigate identified risks. 
  • Maintain and audit data sources: Support the maintenance of original and improved data sources for auditing purposes, including the creation of Power BI dashboards to ensure data transparency and integrity. 
  • Analyze and harmonize data: Assist in identifying, analyzing, and harmonizing data from SAP, Microsoft, external, and open data sources for use in business applications and data analytics products. 
  • Improve and manage data quality: Support the technical improvement of data quality by helping to manage and govern data quality solutions and reports, ensuring continuous improvement. 
  • Vendor coordination: Provide assistance in managing relationships with data providers and developers, learning the fundamentals of vendor management. 
  • Support to business change initiatives: support the execution of critical program implementations to ensure their success. 

 

Education & Skills

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in IT, Electronics, Communication, Systems Engineering, or similar STEM disciplines.
  • Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Italian is a plus. 
  • Basic understanding of Data Science, Data Engineering, Data quality,  and Automation and affinity with Data Analysis and Data Visualization is a plus. 
  • Basic knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as Python R, or SQL, and familiarity with tools like Power BI is a plus. 
  • Previous experience or coursework in handling and assembling data to meet business requirements is a plus.

  • Passion for data quality and data engineering practices, with a strong desire to learn about how enterprises support data and analytics at scale. 
  • Familiarity with basic data quality standards and an eagerness to understand regulatory requirements. 
  • Enthusiasm for learning about automating data quality solutions and creating intelligent data products. 
  • Interest in exploring and understanding various data quality products available in the market. 
  • A strong interest in cloud-based platforms like Microsoft Azure and a willingness to explore machine learning and AI services. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter, and within a team environment. 
  • Good Communication skills- Written and Verbal. 
  • You are open to feedback and able to adapt when priorities change.
