Context
Your internship is within ASIA Systems Engineering Centre (SEC).
- ASIA SEC groups together Systems experts within ASIA Home Area (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, China, etc.) and it is the specialist of system engineering and system assurance, technical expertise, and project / bid management for the rail systems for ASIA. It covers all technical disciplines composing a modern transport system: Rolling Stock, Signalling, Telecom, Security, Power Supply, etc.
Missions/Main Duties
A few of ASIA SEC recent activities:
- System assurance (including EMI/EMC and Software Assessment) services to main contractors to the LTA for new lines, extensions of revamping of existing MRT lines (incl. power supply and distribution systems, radio and communication systems, tunnel ventilation and smoke detection systems, rolling-stock, ticketing).
- System engineering services for electromobility in Singapore
- System engineering services and Systems design for the 3A High Speed Line in Thailand
- System engineering services and technical expertise for Jabodebek LRT in Jakarta – Indonesia
- Requirements Management activities for engineering project in Hong Kong.
- Bid Management and coordination for several proposal within the ASIA Home Country
As part of your Internship, you will:
- Develop your skills in System Assurance, System Engineering by working on various conventional and innovative projects both in and around Malaysia.
- Develop your skills in Bid Management by assisting in the bidding process of contracts both locally and regionally.
- Gain understanding, through practice, of key international standards (i.e. EN50126/IEC62278, IEC61508, MIL-STD 882, INCOSE, PMI).
- Work with clients and international colleagues on project deliverables.
- Contribute to the promotion of the business (i.e Drafting market analysis, market data collection, press reviews) which allows you to gain broad knowledge of the rail industry.
- Develop both technical and Managerial skills.
- Learn about engineering processes and engineering management.
- Develop analytical skill, communication skill and problem solving skill.
Profile/Skills
Mandatory Requirements:
- Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree (Candidates from Diploma programs will not be considered).
- Preferred start date is February 2026.
- Available for a minimum internship duration of 6 months (Start and end dates are negotiable to align with your university's academic calendar).
- Expected graduation date must be within the year 2026 or 2027.
