JOB DESCRIPTION:

Abbott’s nutrition business is part of Abbott Laboratories Ltd. manufacturing the most trusted names in nutrition products for every stage of life—from nourishing infants for a healthier start, to providing active adults with the vitamins and minerals they need to perform at their best, to meeting the distinct nutritional needs of people with acute or chronic conditions. Within the UK, our business spans across two key markets:

Reimbursed: selling directly to the NHS where our medical nutrition products are prescribed to patients via healthcare professionals, Direct-to-consumer: selling directly to the end user via online and in-store channels.

Abbott’s nutrition business is delighted to be offering one marketing internship position to support our Brand Managers in executing marketing strategies and tactics, which will provide the opportunity to gain experience across a number of marketing channels and working with a broad cross-functional team.

Throughout the 13-month placement, you will have the opportunity to work on the direct-to-consumer side of the business, supporting the respective brand managers across a variety of marketing initiatives including:

  • Conducting competitor analysis
  • Developing materials to support campaigns (concept to execution)
  • Being the responsible point of contact for liaising with marketing agencies on operational matters, including running weekly meetings
  • Owning cross-functional alignment between the Brands and other teams internally
  • Managing, planning and executing adhoc events and meetings
  • Supporting in the development of yearly Brand Plans

About the Brands

Adult Nutrition Portfolio:

  • Ensure NutriVigor is an adult nutritional supplement shake containing a unique blend of ingredients specially formulated to support strength, energy and immunity​
  • Glucerna Control is a meal replacement shake that supports the maintenance of normal blood sugar levels, weight loss and weight maintenance

Paediatric Nutrition Portfolio:

  • Paediasure Shake is a children’s nutritional supplement drink with 26 vitamins & minerals plus protein which helps them reach their full growth potential
  • Paediasure Shake Teen Balance is a nutritional supplement drink specifically designed to fulfil the nutritional needs of teenagers during their final growth spurt.

This opportunity is suitable for a student studying towards a degree (Bachelors or Integrated Masters) in a Marketing or Business-related topic and would form part of a year in industry requirement. You will be confident at working independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating a detail-oriented and organised approach to projects and tasks. You will possess clear communication and literacy to enable strong stakeholder management skills between functions, seeking alignment and clear direction.

This role will be based at our Maidenhead site. You will be required in the office for at least four days a week.
