About the Role

Intern Details:

  • Location: Broan Global Headquarters at 926 W. State. St., Hartford, WI 53027
  • Duration: Full-time Summer opportunity – Hybrid role

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop knowledge and understanding of cost drivers for commodities with Group Commodity (GCM) guidance.
  • Participate on cross-functional commodity teams to implement commodity strategies with a focus on value analysis, process improvement, and productivity improvements / cost reduction
  • Assist managing Sourcing responsibilities within the New Product Development process.
  • Participate and assist in supplier meetings and/or negotiations as requested.
  • Assist GCM’s with data analysis as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in order to endure achievement of departmental company business strategy.
  • Maintains conduct consistent with company policy, operating procedures, accepted practices and applicable state and federal regulations and laws.

Job Requirements:

  • Enrolled in a Supply Chain Management program and be of Junior or Senior status, working towards a Bachelor’s degree in related major.
  • Possess effective analytical, numerical, problem solving, and reasoning abilities. Ability to interpret and analyze data for use in sourcing and cost reduction decisions.
  • Effective communication skills – written, verbal and presentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Collaborative approach to partner with teammates, suppliers, and customers (both internal and external) successfully, working closely with others in a team environment. Establish and leverage relationships to achieve common project objectives.
  • Efficient planning & organization skills required.
  • Strong “hands on” approach to getting work completed.
  • Meet all safety requirements related to role.

Preferred Skills (not required):

  • Active in student chapter of Association of Supply Chain Management (ASCM).
  • Negotiation experience.
  • Ability to take a leadership role in a team-based environment.
  • Strong Project Management skills.
  • Fluency in other language spoken throughout Broan global facilities – Mandarin Chinese, French, or Spanish.
