About the Role

Your area of work

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) area is at the heart of the Information Technology division of Deutsche Börse Group. The CTO area develops and operates the group-wide IT infrastructure (network, data centers and cloud), the Group Data & Advanced Analytics and the Enterprise Architecture which significantly contribute to Deutsche Börse Group overall strategy. The CTO area drives digital transformation and leverages innovation while keeping production operations stable are the core pillars of the shared services.

Within the CTO Area, the Cloud / Core Infrastructure department enables the usage of public cloud services from Microsoft and Google and provides core infrastructure services such as data center management, network and network security services or virtualization services. The department also develops and maintains cloud platforms for GCP and Azure.

 

We are looking for a motivated and creative intern (cyber/network security) to join our team. In this role, you will primarily focus on participating to a project to implement network micro-segmentation in a business-critical environment. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment and contribute to an impactful network security project in the financial industry.

 

Your responsibilities:

  • Assist and support network environment discovery and documentation.
  • Assist in network micro-segmentation concept & technology analysis.
  • Support security policy modeling & rule design.
  • Support monitoring, validation & fine-tuning.
  • Assist risk & Compliance alignment.

 

Your profile

  • You must be enrolled in a Bachelor or Master’s degree in an IT related discipline and can provide an internship agreement, OR have graduated with a Bachelor's degree or similar for no more than 6 months
  • Excellent network and associated protocols knowledge (OSI, TCP, UDP, ICMP, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP)
  • Strong interest in network security (stateful firewalls, web application firewalls, IDS & IPS, DdoS protection systems); understanding of network micro segmentation principles.
  • Ability to use network capture tools (wireshark, tcpdump) and to read and understand application related network flows.
  • Familiar with penetration testing methodologies and tools.
  • Solid knowledge of Linux OS.
  • Acquired or ongoing certifications with some Cisco CCNA / ISO 27001 / ISC2 modules is a plus.
  • Knowledge of shell scripting and Python programming language.
  • Knowledge of Public Cloud Providers environments (GCP, Azure) is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, creative, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, fluent in English.
