Job Summary

NAV CANADA is the world’s second largest Air Navigation Service Provider. We are a private company that operates mission critical systems that are fundamental to the safe and efficient service that manage 12 million aircraft movements a year.
As a member of the Air Traffic Management Team; the ATM Engineering Student will be involved in new and ongoing development and engineering support of Air Traffic Control systems.
You will have a diverse set of responsibilities which can include develop/enhance software, data analysis, system and software testing.
In this work term, the primary task for the student will be able to work individually and within a Scale Agile Framework (SAFe) Team on refactoring our Radar Software, and the Control and Monitoring Program.

Job Description

Programs and Level:
•    Students working towards a degree in Engineering, specializing in 
      Electrical, Computer, Software or similar disciplines.
•    Eligible for COOP in Summer 2026 as part of your program

Responsibilities
•    Software development (C/C++/Python/JavaScript) and testing.
•    System Hardware installation, setup and testing.
•    Create test plans, procedures and scripts.
•    Support life cycle support activities of current systems and lab 
        environments.

•    Good understanding of operating systems.
•    Good understanding of Networking.
•    Good oral and written communications.
•    Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Working Conditions:
        This is a 5 days a week onsite role at the Technical Services Centre, 
        280 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa, ON
