About the Role

Description

Background check, US Citizenship, security clearance, and a CAC are requirements of this position. Travel is 10%.


General Summary: The Intern position is for Junior and Senior undergraduate studies for structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering discipline programs geared toward the maritime and naval industries.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assigned to an engineering project team.

• Team with engineers for applied engineering design, engineering systems development, detailed design based upon undergraduate degree pursued.

• Develop work product within an ISO 9001:2015 Quality Assurance Program

• AutoCAD drawing development.

• Utilize design modeling programs.

• Learn regulations and rules affecting proper designs for regulatory approval.

• Attend ship checks for system tracing, electrical infrastructure, and existing structural installations.

• Utilize engineering schematics and structural drawings to properly identify components and ship structures.

• Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• College Junior and Senior undergraduate studies for structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering discipline programs geared toward the maritime and naval industries. The enrolled studies must lead to an ABET accredited Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Naval Architecture degree.

• Students must have GPA of 2.8 or higher.

• Most recent college transcript and a letter of recommendation from a current engineering professor to participate in this internship is required.

• Secret Security Clearance Required to participate in ship checks.
