Software Engineering Internship

<p>The AEVEX Internship Program gives individuals who are early in their career the opportunity to gain valuable learning opportunities while discussing goals, evaluating performance and receiving regular feedback. This Engineering Intern will work alongside the Tactical Systems Engineering Team through a variety of disciplines to envision, design, and develop products and systems while developing and refining their technical skills.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>A software engineering intern is part of the software development team that creates software solutions for AEVEX. This person applies engineering principles and knowledge of programming languages to build these software solutions. This is an internship for current college students.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Essential Functions</strong></p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with other software developers, product owner/manager, and stakeholders to deliver creative and tailored custom solutions.</li> <li>Contribute to the software development process including requirements, design, implementation, test, debugging and deployment.</li> <li>Develop Embedded Linux, Windows PC and microcontroller software applications using C, C++, and occasionally other programming languages.</li> <li>Deploy and maintain software on Embedded Linux and Microsoft Windows PC based platforms.</li> <li>Expand the capabilities of our software products by developing new features and Integrating data from hardware such as GPS/GNSS, LiDAR and Accelerometers.</li> <li>Rapidly build and deploy moderately complex mobile applications leveraging Location Services, Maps, and other common Android/IOS libraries.</li> <li>Stay up to date with the latest design trends and best practices.</li> <li>Collaborate with manager to establish internship goals and steps on achieving those goals throughout duration of the program</li> <li>Collaborating with senior staff to design prototypes for new aircraft, aircraft components, ground control stations and support equipment</li> <li>Performing field tests, gather data and analysis, document results and generate reports</li> <li>Research solutions for new products components and recommend upgrades</li> <li>Perform other related duties as assigned.</li> </ul> <p>Standard Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Regular and reliable attendance on a full time basis [or in accordance with posted schedule].</li> <li>Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices.</li> <li>Embodies AEVEX’s cultural values and aligns daily actions with department goals and company culture.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Qualifications </strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to grow your professional skills and learn from challenges</li> <li>Willingness to work as part of a team</li> <li>Results-oriented and end-goal focused</li> <li>Willingness to learn new skills</li> <li>Good social skills that enhance team dynamics</li> <li>Must have strong attention to detail and be a critical thinker. Not afraid to challenge convention</li> <li>Hands on programming experience in college projects, internships, or industry.</li> <li>Knowledge of Linux, Linux programming concepts.</li> <li>Knowledge of software development using Microsoft Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code.</li> </ul> <p>Education / Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Recent degree or current enrollment in an engineering program in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related Software Development focused field</li> <li>Validated academic excellence (3.0 GPA and higher)</li> </ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>No prior experience necessary</li> </ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
