You will operate as part of the development team in partnership with the game design team. You will have ownership of a gameplay system and ensure that the implementation meets the technical and design requirements. As a Gameplay Programmer Intern, you will help clarify technical requirements and contribute to defining the development roadmap of a gameplay system. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be exposed to a gameplay system, technical design and implementation, ensuring design and realization requirements are met and exciting player experiences are delivered.</span></p><p></p><p><b><b>Reporting</b></b></p><p><span>The Gameplay Programmer Intern will report to the Technical Program Manager.</span></p><p><b><b>Responsibilities and Duties</b></b></p><ul><li><p><span>Deliver a high quality system / feature that meet design and technical requirements.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Optimize and debug code to ensure performance and technical quality.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Promote and follow programming best practices and coding standards, build sustainable, performant and maintainable technologies and code.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Assist with technical design documents, requirements clarification, tasks definition and peer code-reviews.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Plan work effectively and provide realistic updates on progress to managers.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Proactively identify risks and create innovative solutions to mitigate their impact on the game.</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><b>Minimum Qualifications</b></b></p><ul><li><p><span>C++ proficiency with a good knowledge of object-oriented development principles.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Ability to debug and optimize both at both low and high level.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Ability to and communicate effectively with all members of the development team.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Ability to organize and prioritize your own work.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Analytical and problem-solving skills.</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><b>Preferred Qualifications</b></b></p><ul><li><p><span>Interest in the design and implementation of various game systems (Al, Online network, User Interface, Character controls, etc).</span></p></li><li><p><span>Understanding of game mechanics and design principles.</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p></p><div class="content-conclusion"><p class="p1">Please note, Sony Interactive Entertainment conducts background checks at the offer stage for all new employees (which may include criminal background checks for some roles) and will need to process personal information to support these checks.</p>
