About the Role

Overview

The Summer IT AI Intern will join the Information Technology team to support initiatives involving Artificial Intelligence and IT infrastructure. This role offers hands-on experience with emerging technologies, contributing to projects that enhance operational efficiency and digital transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing and testing AI-driven tools in compliance with Sharp’s AI and IT security policies.
  • Support projects involving Generative AI for automation and productivity improvements.
  • Collaborate with IT teams on network security, data analysis, and AI-based threat detection.
  • Participate in AI integration with existing IT systems and enterprise applications.
  • Document processes and create user guides for AI tools and IT workflows.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or related field.
  • Experience with Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot).
  • Knowledge of data visualization and API integration.
  • Familiarity with Python, machine learning frameworks, and cloud platforms.
  • Understanding IT fundamentals: Windows OS, networking basics, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Interest in emerging technologies and digital transformation.

Summer Internship Details:

  • Compensation: The hourly rate is $20/hr.
  • Duration: The internship program spans approximately 10 weeks, running from June 1st to August 14th, 2026.
  • Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid position, requiring interns to be in the office in Montvale, NJ, four days a week (Monday to Thursday), with Fridays designated for remote work at the manager's discretion. 
  • Transportation: Since the office location in Montvale, NJ, is not accessible by public transportation, interns must have reliable transportation.
  • Housing: We do not provide housing or a housing stipend for interns.
  • Work Visa: Unfortunately, we do not offer work visa sponsorship for this role, including participation in Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training (OPT), and F-1 Visa programs.
