About the Role

Overview

This Summer Accounting Internship provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in corporate accounting while developing key analytical, problem-solving, and compliance skills. Interns will work alongside experienced accounting professionals, gaining insight into general ledger accounting, accounting close, internal controls and financial reporting. This role is designed to offer exposure to real-world corporate accounting, helping interns build a solid foundation for a future career in accounting or finance.

 

This internship will provide an opportunity to:

 

  • Gain practical experience in corporate accounting and financial reporting.
  • Develop skills in data analysis, reconciliation, and report preparation.
  • Learn about general ledger accounting, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with accounting professionals, controllers, and business unit stakeholders.
  • Enhance Excel proficiency and gain exposure to SAP and other financial systems.
  • Strengthen problem-solving and communication skills in a corporate setting

Responsibilities

  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations using Excel and general ledger data from SAP and internal reports after month end close.
  • Support the month end close by parking month-end journal entries and calculations.
  • Reconcile cash activity within the leasing business to ensure completeness and accuracy of all cash receipts.
  • Perform and review internal controls and related documentation.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts by reviewing balance sheet account activity to identify accounts to be closed.
  • Help review the submission of internal deliverables to Corporate Accounting.
  • Assist with the implementation of S4/HANA and data validation.
  • Explore opportunities to apply AI and automation to improve reporting efficiency; contribute creative ideas to encourage innovation and process improvement.

Qualifications

  • Junior or Senior in college pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in accounting and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Summer Internship Details:

  • Compensation: The hourly rate is $20/hr.
  • Duration: The internship program spans approximately 10 weeks, running from June 1st to August 14th, 2026.
  • Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid position, requiring interns to be in the office in Montvale, NJ, four days a week (Monday to Thursday), with Fridays designated for remote work at the manager's discretion. 
  • Transportation: Since the office location in Montvale, NJ, is not accessible by public transportation, interns must have reliable transportation.
  • Housing: We do not provide housing or a housing stipend for interns.
  • Work Visa: Unfortunately, we do not offer work visa sponsorship for this role, including participation in Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training (OPT), and F-1 Visa programs.
