You will gain experience on projects large and small, in various phases of construction. We also hope to give you experiences outside of the typical internship in your discipline – from helping on a business development or marketing pursuit, planning an event for your office, or sharing your ideas on what the future of design services looks like.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Position Summary&nbsp;</strong><br>As a DLR Group Summer Intern, you will be an important part of our climate + environment team and will help with a range of internal and external design performance projects. Our Summer Internship Program is a paid, full-time opportunity running from May 19 through August 7, 2026. We expect interns to participate throughout the duration of the program. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow, learn and contribute your design voice to our brand promise of Elevating the Human Experience.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What you will do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with other design team members in the integrated design process for various projects&nbsp;</li> <li>Contribute to sustainability‑focused design work, applying principles such as energy efficiency, embodied carbon reduction, water and ecological conservation, human health and wellness, and resilience.</li> <li>Develop proficiency in primary design performance tools such as Covetool, Zero Tool, C.Scale, mySidewalk and other proprietary DLR Group design tools and methods&nbsp;</li> <li>Update Design Performance data for projects such as LEED, Net-Zero, presentation materials using PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite to support design efforts&nbsp;</li> <li>Support our sustainability commitments, such as AIA 2030, SE 2050, MEP 2040, and Materials Pledge, and contribute to developing project specific climate strategies&nbsp;</li> <li>Engage in meetings to ensure effective coordination of 2025 operational carbon analysis&nbsp;for DLR Group’s business operations</li> <li>Explore and gain a deeper understanding of design performance documentation and processes&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Enrolled in a Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture degree program (NAAB-accredited university strongly preferred)&nbsp;or a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Design Engineering or other sustainability focused degree program</li> <li>Completed 3 years of design education prior to the start of the internship&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience with climate analysis and establishing design performance goals based on project context and client drivers &nbsp;</li> <li>Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office&nbsp;</li> <li>Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with Cove.tool, C.Scale, mySidewalk, Zero Tool, Climate Studio, Lightstanza, or other design performance software&nbsp;</li> <li>Excellent visual, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills&nbsp;</li> <li>Previous internship experience&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience with Mural (visual collaboration software)&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong><em>*TO BE CONSIDERED, A CURRENT PORTFOLIO OR WORK SAMPLES, PREFERABLY IN PDF FORMAT, IS NOT REQUIRED BUT PREFERRED*&nbsp;</em></strong></p> <p><em>Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position, including temporary visas such as E, F-1 (including OPT and CPT), TN, J, H-1B, or those who need employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.</em></p><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p>Our comprehensive Benefits at DLR Group include medical, dental, vision, disability, wellness programs, flex spending, paid holidays, and paid time off.
