Job Overview
We are seeking a Summer 2026 Roadway Construction Management Intern to join our team at Ardmore Roderick. As a Roadway Construction Management Intern, you join a team of infrastructure solutions experts working to solve our client’s ever evolving project needs.  This opportunity will be located in the field for various Chicago, IL street rehabilitation projects.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Ardmore Roderick construction management roadway team on various tasks for assigned team projects
  • Learn basic principles of roadway construction management
  • Assist in maintaining detailed records of daily construction operations
  • Assist in overseeing daily construction activities and ensuring compliance with the project's specifications, timeline and budget
  • Assist with daily interaction with the contractor to ensure project is done on time and at budget
Required Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a four-year degree in construction management or civil engineering from an accredited university
  • Interest in construction management transportation-based projects, ie roads, highways and tollways
  • Be willing to work in the various elements and seasons of the Illinois climate
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have good reliable transportation to and from the work site
  • Be willing to work early hours if needed on your assigned projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Have a team player mindset with the ability to communicate proficiently in written and verbal forms
  • Have good to great organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior construction management internship experience
