About the Role

Manulife Product Development Interns are exposed to a wide range of product design and development experiences. There is a strong learning culture within the team, and interns are encouraged to be proactive about any questions or doubts they might have—whether related to assigned tasks, technical challenges, or product concepts. Interns work on tasks that are meaningful to the product development team, and we trust interns with more complex responsibilities when capability is demonstrated.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing product specifications and documentation for new product launches.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new product features, including validating calculations and workflows.
  • Conduct research on market trends, competitor products, and customer needs to inform product design decisions.
  • Help develop and maintain product illustration templates and related calculations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (pricing, operations, marketing) to ensure smooth product implementation.
  • Other ad-hoc tasks assigned to support product development initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn
  • Able to commit from May 2026 to Aug 2026
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel; familiarity with VBA or other tools is a plus.
  • Interest in insurance, financial products, or product innovation.
