About the Role

Position Summary

The Development Intern supports the Masonic Medical Research Institute’s Advancement team in the execution of donor engagement, stewardship, and general fundraising operations. This position provides hands-on experience in nonprofit development within a mission-driven biomedical research environment. The intern will assist with donor recognition efforts, visitor engagement, database management, and administrative support related to fundraising initiatives.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with donor recognition, stewardship, and acknowledgment initiatives.
  • Support guided campus tours, special visits, and donor or stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Maintain and improve the accuracy, organization, and integrity of the fundraising database.
  • Provide administrative, logistical, and project support to the Advancement team as assigned.
  • Assist with general fundraising operations and related tasks in support of MMRI’s mission.
     

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Interest in nonprofit development, fundraising, healthcare, or biomedical research environments.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and other commonly used database and communication applications.
     

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds, as required for event setup, materials handling, or related duties.
     

Work Environment

This role is based in a professional office and research campus setting and may include interaction with donors, visitors, and staff during tours or special events.
