About the Role

Fork Truck / Diesel Repair Mechanic Intern


Scot Forge Company is looking to hire an Fork Truck / Diesel Repair Mechanic Intern for a 3 month internship at the manufacturing facility in Franklin Park, IL. An Fork Truck / Diesel Repair Mechanic Internship at Scot Forge will provide a variety of experiences and exposure to the manufacturing environment, and application of mechanical skills through  project work and daily tasks that directly impact production.

Anticipated Projects and Daily Tasks include:

  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on industrial mobile equipment
  • Daily inspections to anticipate upcoming repair needs
  • Minor repairs on equipment
  • Work 1-on-1 with experienced Maintenance professionals on major repairs 
  • Maintain vehicle repair records
  • Perform final operational tests on all vehicles to quality-check all repairs prior to releasing
  • Continuous Improvement Projects developed within team


Qualifications:

Required Skills

  • Active student enrolled in Diesel Truck Repair program or similar
  • Ability to work minimum 25 hours a week
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with various teams to complete projects and daily tasks


Additional Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work anywhere in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Must be able to pass a 90 day head hair drug test today.
