About the Role

Human Resources Intern


Scot Forge Company is looking to hire an Human Resources Intern for the Summer of 2026 at the corporate facility in Spring Grove, IL. An Human Resources Internship at Scot Forge will provide a variety of experiences and exposure to the profession within manufacturing environment.

Anticipated Projects include:

  • New Hire Onboarding: work with candidates to schedule and complete all pre-employment requirements. Including scheduling drug screens/physicals, ordering PPE, receiving and tracking results, assemble new hire packets, assist with orientation, E-verify of new hires.
  • Manufacturing Pathways Consortium Project: Partner with MPC and Scot Forge representatives to onboard high school students for rotational internships; utilizing onboarding and record keeping skills described above. Project will also include tracking data and cost surrounding program for grant reimbursement. 
  • Record-keeping and Confidentiality: Learn to navigate the HRIS system, alphabetize all employee files, keep files up to date, remove, scan, and sort terminated employee files, update basic employee changes.
  • Recruiting: Sit in on interviews, review and select qualified candidates for interviews for hourly roles within Spring Grove and Clinton locations, coordinate interviews, disposition candidates in system. Intern performance will grant opportunity to conduct interviews for hourly roles. Ability to sit in on corporate salaried interviews and assist in coordinating interviews.
  • Exit Interviews: Coordinate and conduct MPC exit interviews, compile data and report trends to HR team from feedback.
  • Assisting the Standard Student Learners (with their corresponding manager) as requested/necessary. 
  • Community Outreach: Assisting Marketing, HR Team, and Flex Team Manager in staying connected with local high schools for promoting student employment opportunities within Scot Forge.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

Required Skills

  • Junior or Senior standing in a bachelor’s program, majoring in Human Resource Management, Business Administration / Management, or related discipline. 
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Suite, Outlook)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple disciplines


Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of Adobe products, SQL Servers, and HRIS Systems

Additional Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work anywhere in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Must be able to pass a 90-day head hair drug test today.
