<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Zero is a creative studio founded in NYC. We have offices in New York, Milwaukee, Los Angeles as well as working virtually across the world. Our intention is to create an environment where multidisciplinary teams can solve problems for progressive and contemporary brands. We aim to constantly re-evaluate what it’s like to work with a studio and provide a high degree of value and service to our clients and our team.</span></p>

<h4><span style="font-weight: 400;">Position Overview</span></h4>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As a Design Intern at Zero, your primary focus is to hone your craft while developing thoughtful, original ideas that are on strategy. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You conceptualize the emotional “why” behind brands and how to express it across all creative mediums. From brand worlds to websites, social platforms and marketing channels, you’re responsible for creating design work that speaks the brand’s language and offers a fresh perspective within the brand’s industry. Whether developing the visual brand tone or working within a set of established guidelines, you are able to plug into the brand mindset and articulate it. You have the skills and understanding to properly execute on typography, color theory, layout and art direction, as well as the ability to develop effective visual communication to fit a variety of brands.</span></p>

<h4><span style="font-weight: 400;">Responsibilities</span></h4>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Contribute to the research & discovery phase through competitive audits, research, and any additional tactics that add value</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Contribute to the development of holistic brand strategies that are unique to the market and genuine to the beliefs and vision of the brand</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Develop effective designs and art direction that deliver on the brand strategies, are unique to the market and genuine to the beliefs and vision of the brand</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Collaborate closely with copywriters and developers on brand applications such as branding, art direction, packaging, website, emails, social media content and other mediums to support the brand world</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Work closely with Creative Leads and Project Leads to develop designs and a systematic approach to the design language across mediums</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Approach every project with a clear purpose and ensure all executions meet business and user goals</span></li>

<h4><span style="font-weight: 400;">Mentorship & Goals</span></h4>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Zero internships provide you with the opportunity to grow in your career by working on real client work, collaborating with the team, presenting work to clients, and having mentorship from leadership. To track progress and discuss your growth, you will have regular check-ins with leadership at Zero that includes: </span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Bi-weekly check-ins with your manager, a Director at Zero </span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Monthly check-ins with a Partner at Zero </span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">At the culmination of your internship, you will have a final performance review with your manager and a partner at Zero to discuss your progress and reflect on growth and experience at Zero. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The goal of this internship for Zero is to support early career individuals through mentorship and on the job training as well as work with talented people that can contribute time and perspective to our clients and projects. </span></p>

<h4><span style="font-weight: 400;">Qualifications & Requirements</span></h4>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-weight: 400;">Zero views internships as on-the-ground professional development while working on client projects. As such, only candidates not currently enrolled in an education program will be considered.</span></li>

<h4><span style="font-weight: 400;">Years of Experience</span></h4>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">A portfolio that demonstrates your design thinking and ability to consider design basics such as typography, color theory and layout. </span></li>
</ul>

<h4><span style="font-weight: 400;">Reporting Structure</span></h4>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The position reports to a Creative Director</span></li>
</ul>

<h4><span style="font-weight: 400;">Working Location</span></h4>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-weight: 400;">Zero has physical studio spaces in Brooklyn and Milwaukee. Staff are expected to occasionally work in these locations during the work week if you live within a reasonable distance of these studios. Additional details can be discussed during the interview process.</span></li>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Pay, Benefits, and Engagement Period</span></p>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-weight: 400;">Internships at Zero are for a 4 month period</span></li>
<li><span style="font-weight: 400;">Interns will be paid at a rate of $2,916 per month for the length of the internship</span></li>
<li><span style="font-weight: 400;">PTO and other benefits will be discussed during the interview process</span></li>
</ul>
