Are you ready to take your internship to new heights at Six Flags Great Escape?  Be a part of the Park Services Hospitality Leadership Internship Program?  This program is more than just a job or simple internship – it’s a lifetime opportunity to gain hands-on experience, make lasting friendships, boost your resume, grow your knowledge and skills, and make a real-world difference on the operation of New York’s leading theme park.  As a Park Services Hospitality Leadership Intern, you will lead in a Supervisory capacity while ensuring to keep the park clean and sparkling for all Guests.

Responsibilities

Program Highlights & Responsibilities

  • Meet and network with other college interns and park leaders
  • Gain first-hand knowledge and experience working directly in the field in an operations leadership position
  • Oversee members of the Park Services Team in a Supervisory role
  • Get valuable opportunities to meet, engage, and learn from park leaders and management
  • Opportunity to participate in a “Capstone Presentation” related to improving an aspect of the park/resort operation
  • Ensure that appropriate staffing levels are maintained to meet all operational goals
  • Responsible for storage areas and Guest facing locations being stocked, cleaned and organized
  • Responsible for the compliance with daily labor and expense budgets
  • Responsible for the implementation of department training and on the job training for Team Members
  • Responsible for inventory control & management
  • Ensuring an enjoyable and rewarding experience for Team Members and ensuring high rates of retention, motivation and morale
  • Responsible for Coaching, Counseling, and Documentation
  • Responding to and resolving Guest situations in a professional and responsible manner
  • Assist with developing Leads and Team Members for future Leadership roles
  • Practices, supports, maintains and enforces a total safety culture for all Leads and Team Members
  • Assist other Team Members and Departments to support the resort as a whole

How You Will Do It

  • Ability to lead and inspire team members.
  • Ability to work in an environment as fast-paced as our coasters 
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to successfully interpret and explain SDS information
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Willingness to step in when needed, lead by example and assist with all cleaning tasks
  • Taking direction from management

Qualifications

What You Will Need

  • Must be 18 years or older with valid driver’s license
  • Must be currently pursuing a college degree or a recent graduate (within 180 days of the start of employment at Six Flags Great Escape)
  • A team-player attitude and the willingness to step in wherever it is needed to support the park operation or assist Guests
  • Commit to working through the 2026 summer operating season (minimally mid-May through mid-August)
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends, nights and holiday periods to meet business needs
  • Ability and comfort working in an indoor and outdoor environment (rain, heat, winds, etc.)
  • Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, and reach throughout your shift
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Basic understanding of leadership and a willingness to learn and develop
  • A safety-first attitude
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
