About the Role

UPMC is seeking a motivated and analytical Innovation & process Improvement Summer Intern. The Program Innovation & Improvement team focuses on streamlining Medicare operations, enhancing member and provider experiences, and driving continuous improvement across the business. Over the summer, the intern will gain handson experience mapping operational workflows, analyzing process gaps, and supporting real improvement initiatives that impact care delivery and service quality. They will learn how to apply Lean and processimprovement methods, work with crossfunctional stakeholders, and support innovation projects that use data, automation, or digital tools. The intern can expect exposure to Medicare operations, opportunities to contribute meaningful work, and a supportive environment focused on learning and professional growth.
 

This is a hybrid shift consisting of working from home and in the office.  The internship will run from May 26th to August 14th with some flexibility to start and end if necessary.  

Irrespective of the published compensation in this posting, wages may be adjusted based on education and experience levels.

  • Current undergraduate or recent graduate students studying process improvement, project management, innovation, entrepreneurship, analytics, health economics, healthcare, or digital transformation.
