About the Role

UPMC is seeking a creative, organized, and people focused Employee Engagement & Communications Summer Intern to support end enhance employee experience. This team works with leaders to ensure that the employees of the Insurance Services Division are educated, informed, and engaged.  During this internship, you will work on highlighting the work of our employees through storytelling - including video and podcasts. 

This is a hybrid shift consisting of working from home and in the office. The internship will run from May 26th to August 14th with some flexibility to start and end if necessary.  

Irrespective of the published compensation in this posting, wages may be adjusted based on education and experience levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete function specific tasks and assignments.
  • Represent UPMC internally and externally.
  • Participate in service and social activities.


  • High School Diploma Strongly Preferred.
  • Any education level with a background in communications, journalism, project management, or social media.

  • Provide a writing sample in addition to your resume.
