A Day in the Life of a Tax Intern

Tax Interns conducts tax accounting and perform analysis, prepare returns, and make payments in connection with federal, state and local tax activities for Norfolk Southern Corporation and subsidiaries. Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Gathers, compiles, and analyzes data from different sources for use in tax planning, accounting, and compliance
  • Prepares tax returns in accordance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Assists in making tax payments.

Education/Experience

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree

Preferred Majors: Accounting, Finance – Taxation

Compensation:

Semi Monthly Pay Rates

 

  • Freshman Year - $1,796
  • Sophomore Year - $1,992
  • Junior Year - $2,025
  • Senior Year - $2,167
  • Masters Year - $2,600

 

*Living stipend of $425/bi-monthly is available to those who qualify.
