About the Role

2026 Summer Intern - gRED Early Clinical Development Clinical Operations
 

Department Summary
 

Within this intern role, you will be supporting the Clinical Operations group within Genentech Research and Early Development (gRED) Early Clinical Development (ECD) Operations and the broader gRED and Roche-Genentech organization.

gRED ECD Clinical Operations provides expertise for clinical trials that support the overall early development strategies of the gRED portfolio.


This internship position is located in South San Francisco, On-Site.

The Opportunity

  • Drive Clinical Operations and Inclusive Research Initiatives: Lead and execute strategic projects for the Clinical Operations and Inclusive Research and Health Equity (IRHE) teams while representing Clinical Operations across pan-Roche functions.

  • Innovate Trial Design: Research emerging trends in study conduct, patient-centricity, digital health, and recruitment to bring fresh, data-driven insights to clinical programs.

  • Manage Data & Reporting: Analyze large datasets and maintain tracking repositories to measure progress and inform strategic decision-making for program and study management and inclusive research.

  • Foster Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with internal stakeholders (pRED, Global Patient Network) and external partners to integrate diverse perspectives into the research process.

  • Communicate & Champion Impact: Develop compelling presentations and organizational campaigns to showcase progress and advocate for simplified, inclusive best practices.
     

Program Highlights

  • Intensive 12 months, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

  • Program start dates are in May/June 2026.

  • A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. 

  • Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

  • Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

Who You Are

Required Education
You meet one of the following criteria:

  • Must be pursuing or have attained an Associate's Degree.

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).

  • Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree (within 2 years of graduation and not currently enrolled in a graduate program).

  • Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student).

  • Must have attained a Master's Degree (within 2 years of graduation).


Preferred Majors: Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Healthcare, Business, Communications or Business Development focus.
 

Required Skills: 

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and/or Google Suite.

  • Communication & Collaboration: Proven ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and build professional relationships across diverse teams.

  • Project Management: Strong organizational skills with experience managing multiple tasks or projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Leadership & Initiative: Demonstrated ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and influence outcomes without direct authority.


Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • Resourceful in navigating complex and large organizations.

  • Experience working with AI, analytical and computational tools and technologies.

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. 

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of  California is $24.00 - $40.00 per hour.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
