We are looking for a GIS intern for the summer of 2026. The GIS Internship will provide the opportunity to work on exciting projects while learning from an experienced GIS staff.  They will also be utilized for map creation, hydrologic conditioning of LiDAR derived DEMs, and some general geoprocessing.

Job Description

  • Responsible for performing entry level professional GIS duties, while working within the GIS team.
  • Assist in all aspects of GIS map generation including data creation and editing, querying and spatial analysis, map compilation and map production.
  • Create and modify GIS datasets; manage and maintain legacy GIS datasets; develop and implement GIS-based analyses supporting our Water Resources sector.
  • Maintain geospatial data on desktop, mobile, and cloud applications. Ensure data meets appropriate data accuracy and content standards for quality assurance and quality control.
  • Create and modify GIS datasets; manage and maintain legacy GIS datasets; develop and implement GIS-based analyses supporting drainage system management, watershed districts and other water resource projects.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be working toward a degree in GIS or a related field
  • Knowledge of ESRI GIS software for map generation and data creation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products

The estimated rate of pay is $21-$22 per hour, depending on experience.
