About the Role
<p>Verition’s Summer Internship Program – Equities Technology. </p>

<p>Verition Fund Management LLC (“Verition”) is a multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund founded in 2008. Verition focuses on global investment strategies including Credit, Fixed Income & Macro, Convertible & Volatility Arbitrage, Event-Driven, Equity Long/Short & Capital Markets, and Quantitative Strategies.</p>

<p>As part of our 10-week internship program, you’ll work closely with the equities technology team to enhance your skill set and apply your studies to a wide variety of projects. Our program provides ample opportunities to learn about alternative investments, gain hands-on experience, and contribute meaningfully to a fast-growing firm.</p>

<p>This role offers hands-on experience supporting front office investment professionals through the development of tools, data solutions, and internal applications. The intern will leverage modern AI-assisted development workflows, including Claude Code, to accelerate project delivery while building foundational software engineering skills.</p>

<p><strong>Responsibilities </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with the technology team to deliver small-to-medium projects supporting portfolio managers, analysts, and traders</li>
<li>Develop and enhance internal applications and tools using AI-assisted coding workflows</li>
<li>Write clean, maintainable code with guidance from senior team members</li>
<li>Assist with data engineering tasks including querying, transforming, and visualizing financial data</li>
<li>Participate in code reviews and contribute to team documentation</li>
<li>Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing applications as needed</li>
<li>Present completed work to stakeholders and incorporate feedback</li>

<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<p>Required: </p>
<ul>
<li>Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field</li>
<li>Foundational programming skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or SQL</li>
<li>Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail</li>
<li>Eagerness to learn new technologies and workflows</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li>
</ul>
<p>Preferred: </p>
<ul>
<li>Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)</li>
<li>Exposure to data tools such as Snowflake, Airflow, or similar</li>
<li>Interest in financial markets and investment management</li>
<li>Experience with version control (Git/GitHub)</li>
<li>Prior experience using AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, etc.)</li>
