About the Role

Job Overview

The CEPG Engineering Intern supports the documentation, development, and improvement of equipment, retrofits, and processes. This role also assists with procurement activities and provides ongoing technical support throughout the project lifecycle.

 

Highlights of your role

PROJECT MANAGEMENT- Assist in planning and managing work with engineering and maintenance departments to ensure projects meet budgetary and timeline requirements. Support the coordination of materials and equipment with vendors, suppliers, and facilities. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to equipment procurement processes.

DESIGN/CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT– Provide feedback and innovative ideas for the design of fixtures, tooling, processes, and equipment for internal teams and external vendors.

COMMUNICATION- Collaborate with Designers and Project Managers to ensure projects meet scope requirements. Demonstrate strong, proactive, and thorough communication with team members and customers.

RESEARCH / TROUBLESHOOTING / FORWARD THINKING-Evaluate new technologies in equipment, tooling, and software to enhance machine reliability and functionality. Provide direction, training, and support to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives for machine build and procurement processes.

DOCUMENTATION- Maintain all necessary project documentation, including detailed mechanical and electrical schematics, control system logic, manufacturing/process literature, and budgets. Develop process SOPs and training materials as needed to support process improvements.

 

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)

  • Must be enrolled in an Engineering program pursuing a bachelor’s degree
  • Working knowledge of 2D and 3D modeling software a plus. Inventor experience is preferred
  • Manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be able to problem-solve and communicate effectively
