About the Position                         

We have the perfect opportunity for an aspiring accountant to develop your skills and experiences. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment where the successful candidate must have the right attitude, be prepared to roll their sleeves up, and be an excellent problem solver. This person will have a broad range of responsibilities across all aspects of corporate accounting and accounting operations, financial reporting and internal control activities for the India business. We are looking for someone who doesn't need any motivation to develop, a self-starter, who is hungry to continually improve accounting processes. You will be working closely together with various internal and external business partners like our Business Planning team, the GBS team, the external auditors, and the government authorities.

In brief, you will be responsible for the following accounting responsibilities for our global shared service center (GBS):

  • Ensure period end reporting correctly reflects BU results.
  • Review of business activities, calculation, set up and posting of accounting journals in accordance with journal policy and support for management of accounting in the same.
  • Prepare and review Balance Sheet Account reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial reports and other general accounting duties as required.
  • Ensure compliance requirements are met and ensure open audit points are successfully and timely closed.
  • Support GBS team with queries relating to GBS India Center.
  • Participate in meetings to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls, procedures and policy with India Taxation i.e. TDS, GST, etc. 
  • Keep track of the transactions and monitoring accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
  • Analyzing supplier aging reports to pay all invoices in a timely manner and works to build sustainable processes between Accounts Payable, the supplier, and internal customers.
  • Resolving invoice discrepancies; maintaining records and vendor files.
  • Resolving vendor inquiries in a professional manner in a high-demanding environment.
  • Working with suppliers and partners to identify missing elements in the invoice (approval) process

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal); fluent in English
  • Detail-oriented with a high sense of urgency and exceptional organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills with the ability to operate with a team, customer service, and leadership mentality
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, and prioritize multiple projects, while operating in a fast-paced, complex global organization with shifting schedules and priorities
  • Solid working experience and knowledge of SAP, BI tools and office software (Excel).
  • Exposure to Statutory compliance, GST/TDS & taxation rules
