The Crafting Lucchese Internship Program offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within key business functions. The Communications & Marketing Intern role is designed for candidates interested in public relations, communications, and marketing strategy within a luxury brand environment.

Scope of Role

As part of the Crafting Lucchese Internship Program, the Communications & Marketing Intern will support Lucchese’s Communications function with a focus on media relations, brand storytelling, marketing initiatives, and earned brand visibility. This role works directly with the Senior Manager of Brand Communications to help shape narratives that celebrate Lucchese’s craftsmanship, heritage, and evolving luxury positioning.

The intern will gain immersive exposure to how an American heritage brand builds influence, cultivates media relationships, executes marketing campaigns, and communicates with clarity and purpose across retail, wholesale, e-commerce, events, partnerships, and philanthropy initiatives.

This role is ideal for candidates who are curious, detail-oriented, and eager to learn how communications and marketing drive brand reputation and business impact.

Key Responsibilities

Communications & Marketing

  • Support the execution of public relations and marketing initiatives that advance Lucchese’s luxury brand narrative and strengthen earned media presence.
  • Assist in developing communications and marketing materials, including press releases, talking points, media alerts, briefing documents, and marketing collateral.
  • Conduct research across luxury, fashion, Western, and lifestyle media landscapes to identify storytelling and marketing opportunities.
  • Assist with media and stylist outreach, sample coordination, and tracking to ensure organized and timely communication.
  • Collaborate with Lucchese’s PR agency to support campaigns, media outreach, and earned media initiatives.
  • Monitor, track, and compile earned media coverage to support reporting and strategic planning.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal teams, including retail, e-commerce, wholesale, marketing, and product to support communications and marketing initiatives.
  • Participate in communications and marketing planning sessions, campaign reviews, and editorial brainstorms.
  • Support initiatives tied to product launches, retail openings, partnerships, special events, sponsorships, and philanthropy initiatives, ensuring messaging consistency across all channels.

Insights, Research & Reporting

  • Track industry trends, luxury positioning strategies, and competitive activity to inform communications and marketing strategies.
  • Assist in post-campaign recaps and reporting documents, contributing thoughtful insights and observations.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Business, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a keen editorial eye
  • Familiarity with AP Style
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn
  • Comfortable working in a professional, in-office environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Keynote and Canva is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone and voice across communications and marketing platforms
  • Upper-level undergraduate student (junior or senior) or recent graduate
  • Interest in fashion, luxury, lifestyle, or heritage brand storytelling
  • Public relations and/or marketing coursework or hands-on experience is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
  • Travel may be required (up to 10%)
