About the Role

About the Role:

This application is for a 12-week internship role from June - August 2026. Resume review begins in January 2026.

Biogen’s Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) department is seeking a highly motivated and talented intern with excellent knowledge and experience in LC-MS/MS to join our bioanalytical group. As a summer intern within the bioanalytical group, you will explore various technologies to further expand our understanding and capabilities for quantitative bioanalysis of oligonucleotides.

What You’ll Do:

As an intern, you will actively contribute to the development of novel bioanalytical methods, including the pioneering of novel techniques for quantification of oligonucleotides across various biological matrices such as plasma, CSF, and tissue. You will work on research projects with training and guidance from mentors and experienced co-workers. Your role will involve managing projects, from the initial evaluation of new technologies to solve complex bioanalytical challenges to the writing and reviewing of study protocols and bioanalytical reports. Furthermore, you will be encouraged to engage with the broader scientific community by publishing your research and presenting your findings at external scientific meetings.

Who You Are:

  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with LC-MS/MS is required.
  • Experience with oligonucleotides is preferred. Experience with other modalities such as small molecules and proteins is a plus.
  • Capable of performing bioanalysis and solving bioanalytical technical problems.
  • Familiar with bioanalytical method validation regulatory guidance and GLP regulations.
  • Understanding of pharmacokinetics and drug metabolism principles.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, as well as in a team setting.

To participate in the Biogen Internship or Co-op Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited community college, college, university or skills program/apprenticeship.

Education Requirements

  • Degree level(s): Currently pursuing a Ph.D. or graduate program
  • Preferred majors/programs: Analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or related fields

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $29.00-$33.00


The actual hourly wage offered will consider the candidate’s current academic level and degree candidacy, inclusive of Associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s, JD, MD, PhD and MBA programs. It will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements specific to the job location.
