About Glen Oaks Country Club

Glen Oaks Country Club is a premier private club known for exceptional golf, dining, and member services. We are seeking a highly motivated Accounting Intern to support our team and gain hands-on experience in private club and hospitality accounting within a dynamic professional environment.


Position Overview

The Accounting Intern will assist with core accounting functions including general ledger support, reconciliations, accounts payable, and financial reporting. This role provides meaningful exposure to private club accounting operations and industry-specific systems including Jonas Club Management, MembersFirst, Ottimate, and Cedar Creek.


Key Responsibilities

• Support general ledger accounting and account analysis 

• Assist with bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations

• Support month-end and year-end close activities

• Review vendor statements and assist with resolving discrepancies

• Support purchase order matching and receiving within Cedar Creek

• Assist with validating member charges and revenue postings

• Prepare basic financial schedules and management reports

• Maintain organized, accurate accounting records and supporting documentation

• Assist with filing, organizing, and indexing accounting materials, as needed

• Support audits, internal controls, and special accounting projects, as assigned


Requirements

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field

• Basic understanding of fundamental accounting principles

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel (formulas, basic analysis)

• Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion and professionalism

• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills

• Positive, professional demeanor with the ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively across departments

• Prior accounting coursework or internship experience is a plus, but not required

Schedule & Compensation

• Flexible schedule to accommodate academic commitments

• Paid internship, $18.00 per hour.
