Our 12-month Design Apprentice Program will give recent graduates or early career individuals the opportunity to collaborate with our talented design teams to learn all aspects of the design process. We offer training and learning sessions to give exposure to leaders and provide a big picture understanding to our business. The design apprentices also have the opportunity to present a final project to design leaders across all of the brands.

 

  • Program Dates: June 16, 2026 - June 1st 2027
  • Work structure: Hybrid (Tuesday-Thursday in office)
  • Location: New York City Hudson Yards Office 
  • Compensation: $26/hour

Title: Design Apprentice – Leathergoods

Work Structure – Hybrid (3 days)

Primary Purpose: As the Design Apprentice, you will contribute to the collaborative design process for the handbag and SLG category, partnering closely with the entire team from concept through development. By utilizing your artistic talent, organizational skills, CAD & graphic abilities, you will design and develop silhouettes and platforms for the leathergoods department.

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Design to...

  • Produce and edit computer generated sketches (silhouettes and animations).
  • Partner with Design team to execute seasonal design concepts.
  • Work with teams to coordinate seasonal concepts, materials, and hardware.
  • Liaise with cross-functional partners in the product development process.
  • Assist in spec drawings.
  • Organize presentation boards and assist in the preparation of meetings.
  • Responsible for timeline adherence; ensure all Design Cards are completed accurately throughout the process, including all changes then delivered to Tech Design in a timely manner; ensure all prototypes are available for product presentation.
  • Participate in research and development of seasonal trends.

 

The accomplished individual will possess...

  • Must be highly skilled in Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Must be organized with the ability to handle multiple priorities at once.
  • Must be flexible with the ability to self-manage.
  • Must have strong communication skills.
  • Must be a collaborative, team player with great initiative.

 

An outstanding professional will have...

  • 1+ years related work/internship experience in design; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered 

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Strong hand sketching ability
  • Experience animating silhouettes through color-blocking, applique, etc. 
  • Strong color sense
  • Fashion/luxury brand experience, a plus
