About the Role

Blue Cross of Idaho is seeking a Compliance Intern to join our Compliance team for the Summer. This opportunity will allow an individual to develop communication business etiquette skills, learn about the health insurance industry, and perform risk assessment to help the business.

This paid internship will be located at our corporate headquarters in Meridian, ID and may have some opportunity for hybrid work.

What we are looking for in an intern:

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university, preferably a junior or senior standing student
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)
  • College level writing capabilities
  • Detailed oriented

What you will learn on this internship:

  • Assist in oversight of contracted third parties that may have access to protected health information
  • Examine third party vendors on performance
  • Policy review and distribution
  • Perform key performance indicator analysis
  • Provide audit support and incident management support
  • Assist with regulatory analysis
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
