The Lodging Operations Internship Program at Big Sky Resort is designed for students seeking real, hands-on experience in hotel operations. This program is ideal for individuals who enjoy active work, thrive in fast-paced environments, and want broad exposure to how hotel departments function together to support the guest experience. 

Interns support lodging operations based on business needs, with the majority of time spent in Housekeeping roles, where foundational hotel operations skills are built. Additional departmental experience may be scheduled based on hotel demand and operational needs throughout the season.

As a Lodging Operations Intern, you’ll play a vital role in supporting daily hotel operations while gaining practical experience across key departments. 

• Support day-to-day operations across assigned lodging departments 
• Work primarily in Housekeeping, gaining experience in: 
  • Room turnovers and stayover service 
  • Public area cleaning 
  • Inventory and runner tasks 
  • Inspection standards and quality control 
• Assist in other departments as scheduled based on operational needs, such as: 
  • Front Desk 
  • Bell Services 
  • Concierge 
  • Health Club 
• Follow a weekly assigned schedule designed to support where the hotel needs help most 
• Maintain a strong focus on guest service, teamwork, and operational efficiency
