<h3>The Position</h3><p><b>2026 Summer Intern - CMG DDA - Data Science</b></p><p></p><p><b>Department Summary</b></p><p><span>The Genentech Graduate Internship Program is an intensive 10-12 week opportunity that provides work within a fast-paced and challenging environment. Interns contribute to meaningful projects, interacting and working side by side with biotech industry experts. Our internship program also provides a robust speaker series, which allows interns to hear from top executives throughout the summer. Genentech relies heavily on our internship talent pool to fill full-time positions.</span></p><p></p><p><span>U.S. Commercial, Medical, and Government Affairs (CMG) Data, Digital, and Analytics (DDA)  plays a crucial role in delivering better health outcomes for patients while lowering overall health costs by partnering across the health care system. The group's primary focus is to deliver more medicines to eligible patients, faster. The development and implementation of commercial strategies involves collaboration across a variety of teams with dedicated expertise. </span></p><p></p><p><b>This internship position is located in South San Francisco, CA, On-site.</b></p><p></p><p><b>The Opportunity</b></p><ul><li><p>Brand-Level Knowledge Graph Development<span>: This project will connect directly with Genentech’s commercial operations and focuses on experimenting, at a brand-level pilot scale, with advanced AI technologies to enhance Genentech’s foundational capability of knowledge creation, integration, refreshing, and consumption.</span></p></li><li><p>High-Fidelity Medical Content Synthesis & Retrieval<span>: This project will focus on pushing the limit of RAG for professional-level applications of LLM and other relevant Generative AI technologies in the healthcare domain.</span></p></li><li><p>Time-Series-Based Forecasting<span>: This project will leverage latest AI technologies to build scalable pipelines for forecasting with the capabilities of scenario simulation and planning.</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Program Highlights</b></p><ul><li><p>Intensive 12-week, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship</p></li><li><p>Program start dates are in May/June (Summer) </p></li><li><p>A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship</p></li><li><p>Ownership of challenging and meaningful business-critical projects</p></li><li><p>Drive impact by working in a diverse global, cross-functional setting</p></li><li><p>Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Who You Are</b></p><ul><li><p>Must be current enrolled in an accredited graduate program or a recent graduate of a graduate program with 2 years of work experience prior to graduate school (Graduate programs include MBA, PhD, JD, MD, MPH, MS, and Master's in Data Science)</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Required majors</b></p><ul><li><p>MBA, Masters in Data Science, Masters in Science</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications</b></p><ul><li><p>Work experience before graduate school in consulting, finance, marketing, sales, life sciences, healthcare, consumer business, or drug development</p></li><li><p>Strong quantitative and analytical skills</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated ability and experience in effectively interacting with executives and senior leaders</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated leadership skills and experience</p></li><li><p>Excellent communication skills</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. </b></p><p></p><p>The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position of California is $21.00 - $55.00 per hour.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
