Your New Role 

We have multiple Film and TV Development, Production and Post-Production internship opportunities available. By applying to this posting, you will be considered for multiple internship opportunities within this general area. These internships will be located in the NYC area. The selected interns will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern managers' in office schedule. 

This could include, but is not limited to: 

  • HBO and HBO Max East Coast Production & Post-Production Intern

  • Magnolia Network Content Development Intern

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Work closely with team members and shadow their day-to-day meetings including joining in on pitch meetings and getting a behind the scenes look at what it takes to be a network executive and/or Production or Post Executive

  • Participate in development meetings and learn what makes a successful series

  • Assist in-house productions with tasks including but not limited to research, logging/transcribing footage, and archiving deliverables

  • Update internal database with post schedules, filmmaker contact information, and credits and maintaining and organizing the Master Tracker, Talent Tracker, and Production Report

  • Provide input and opinion on shows the team is evaluating

  • Screen episodes along with programming executives and follow along with the noting process

  • Helping APs with keeping production schedules/shoot dates/etc. updated on documents and in Deal

  • Create a monthly newsletter that highlights happenings in the industry

  • Opportunity to pitch your own show idea to the full team

  • Review & verify Credit and On-Screen Text information to ensure that relevant paperwork matches the text elements on screen

  • Assist Post Executives with festival deliverables

  • Support Production Coordinators and Production/Post Assistants with administrative tasks

  • Assist with Senior Screening Room

  • Assist with Development 1 meeting/show tape

  • Collect show information for internal departments

  • Cut clips from shows

Qualifications & Experience

  • Passion for television development/programming and/or production/post-production

  • Interest in and/or background in unscripted programming and/or production or post-production (i.e. documentaries, stand-up comedies, late-night shows, etc.)

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to follow through on given tasks

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of PowerPoint and other presentation software

  • Experience with video editing

  • Must be actively enrolled in a U.S. accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required) 

  • Must be a rising Junior or Senior Undergrad student (18 years or older) 

  • Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA) A transcript will be required to verify your GPA if an offer is extended.

  • Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States. Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa, including F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, etc., will not be eligible for the internship program. 

The Nice to Haves

  • Familiarity with Premiere Pro is a plus

  • Experience with Airtable, Scenechronize, and Smartsheet is a plus

  • Previous experience with script coverage and/or working on student films or production/post-production in past internships a plus

What To Know Before Applying: 

  • The duration of the summer program regardless of which start/end option is 11 weeks.   

  • Program date options: 

  • Option 1: June 1st   August 14th  

  • Option 2: June 8th – August 21st  

  • Interns will be expected to work 35-40 hours per week in a hybrid capacity 

  • Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.  

  • Interviewing will take place from mid February  through early-April. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates. 

 

  • On December 5, Netflix and Warner Bros. Discovery announced they have entered into a definitive agreement under which Netflix will acquire Warner Bros., including its film and television studios, HBO Max and HBO. The transaction is expected to close after the separation of Warner Bros. Discovery's Global Networks division, Discovery Global, into a new publicly-traded company, which is expected to be completed in Q3 2026.   • Although you will be hired by Warner Bros. Discovery, upon the planned spin-off of Discovery Global in 2026, your employment likely will transition to Warner Bros. (or) transition to Discovery Global.
