Overview

This is an intern level position. Intern will gain practical, hands-on experience in the utility industry under close supervision. This position will provide challenging assignments, networking opportunities, and a chance to learn from experienced energy industry professionals. 


Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance activities as required to maintain, repair, inspect, install, rebuild, construct, and troubleshoot various power plant equipment.
  • Learn the proper use of hand tools, power tools, hoist, drill presses, grinders, and other tools and equipment pertaining to the work.
  • Assist employees in carrying out work assignments.
  • Clean equipment undergoing repairs, handle and move material, supplies and equipment in connection with the work and work area.
  • Be able to learn to make and read simple drawings and sketches.
  • Prepare and take the Edison Electrical Institute (EEI) POSS/MASS test measuring job responsive aptitude, ability to retain knowledge, and problem solving skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in a technical field.  Applicable degree fields include Engineering and Electronics Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Advanced Automation & Robotics Technology, or a related field. 

Minimum 2.50 GPA.
