About the Role

At STELIA North America, we are offering the opportunity that is out of this world! We are looking for someone to join our Engineering Team in beautiful Lunenburg, NS as a Co-Op student for the Summer term. An affiliate of the Airbus Group of Companies, STELIA is an aerospace and defense company specializing in the design, development, and manufacturing of high performance composite components and assemblies. Headquartered in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, and with a site in Mirabel, Quebec, we operate in more than 150,000 sq feet of facilities dedicated to operations, manufacturing and administration.


The Engineering Co-op Student is assigned tasks appropriate to any of the Engineering staff and can expect to work closely with unique processes and advanced components to support an active and wide range of products. This is an 8-month term.


You will:

  • Assist the Engineering group in the development and industrialization of new and existing composite Aerospace components
  • Develop Test Plans, Work Instructions, validation software to support production
  • Support Engineering process updates through document and software upgrades or development
  • Work with Production groups to investigate composite manufacturing problems and solutions and implement into documented process
  • Ensure on-going programs have adequate technical support
  • Participate and contribute to ongoing continuous improvement projects and facility upgrades


Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a post secondary program in Engineering or a related field
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and other computer skills
  • CAD modeling skills (CATIA or equivalent)
  • Computer Programming and hardware integration
  • Concern for Quality
  • Team player
  • Proficient in English
  • Experience in aerospace and/or composites (asset)
