About the Role

Description

Position Summary

The Summer Intern in the Residential Lending Department provides general administrative and clerical support to the lending team while gaining hands-on exposure to residential mortgage operations. This position is designed to support day-to-day office functions, assist with document management, and help ensure efficient workflow during the busy summer period. The intern will develop foundational office, organizational, and professional skills in a financial services environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Upload applicant and property documents (e.g., appraisals, condition reports) to loan files and notify underwriters
  • Retrieve Property Cards and Deeds from municipal and county websites
  • Order Flood Certificates and Property EZ Close Reports via MeridianLink
  • Order appraisals and condition reports, and communicate with appraisers
  • Request and track insurance binders from insurance companies
  • Conduct verbal employment verifications and complete required forms
  • Prepare loan application folders and materials for branch distribution
  • Monitor and update weekly mortgage rate data in Excel

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and take direction in a professional office setting

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or currently enrolled in a college, or technical program
  • Interest in business, finance, accounting, or related field preferred
  • Prior office or customer service experience helpful but not required

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Office environment with frequent use of a computer and office equipment
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Occasional lifting of files or boxes up to 20 pounds

The pay range for this position is $18.00 to $20.00 per hour and is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. The range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.
