About the Role

Summary

The New Home Construction Intern will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of residential construction, learning from and working with experienced professionals in the field.  

Essential Duties

  • Assist in project planning, scheduling, and coordination.
  • Work closely with project managers and construction teams to ensure projects are on schedule and within budget.
  • Participate in on-site inspections and quality control processes.
  • Collaborate with others with other departments to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Gain exposure to budgeting, cost estimation, and project management.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate project documentation and records.
  • Attend project meetings and provide support as needed.
  • Learn to adhere to safety regulations and participate in maintaining a safe and clean work environment on construction sites.
  • Exposure to other departments, including finance, purchasing and estimating, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Basic knowledge of construction process and terminology 
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges in a fast paced environment

Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Licensure

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program in construction management or other related field
