About the Role

 

The International Potato Center (CIP) is looking for one (1) IT Infrastructure and Application Intern to provide support to the Information Technology Department in Lima, Peru.

About the position: This position will support the IT unit in maintaining and optimizing business applications, network infrastructure, and information security protocols. The intern will contribute to the documentation of ITIL-based procedures and the development of solutions within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem to enhance organizational efficiency. 

 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Support business applications including ERP, BI solutions, SharePoint Online, IT Service Management, and Business Analysis. 
  • Provide infrastructure support for networks and communications. 
  • Information security support, including handling and escalation of security events and incidents. 
  • Document internal IT processes and procedures in accordance with the ITIL service management framework. 
  • Develop sites using Office 365 SharePoint. 
  • Develop solutions in Power Platform (Power BI, PowerAutomate, and PowerApps). 
  • Monitor network services, communications infrastructure, Datacenters, and information security. 
  • Update infrastructure and communications inventory. 


Requirements

What are we looking for? 

  • Education: Students in their final cycles of Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields. 
  • Academic Standing: Belonging to the upper third of the class (mandatory requirement). 
  • Technical Competencies: 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office at an advanced level. 
  • Desirable experience with Microsoft Office 365 and knowledge of ITIL. 
  • Basic knowledge of Information Security (malware, phishing, antivirus, etc.). 
  • Knowledge of data networks and network monitoring (switches, wireless access points, etc.). 
  • Knowledge of security standards (NIST, ISO 27001). 
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and ASP (desirable). 
  • Languages: Intermediate level of spoken and written English; advanced reading level. 
  • Core Competencies: User service orientation, initiative, proactivity, interpersonal communication, and teamwork skills.
