About the Role

We are looking for a Planning Intern to join our team to assist in the scheduling of one of the packaging lines in Maryville, where they will work with Assembly Operations, Procurement, Warehousing and Inventory Control and gain real-world experience in production planning. This is a paid internship.  

 

Dates of the internship: May 18th - August 14th

 

Qualifications: 

  • Must be available to come onsite to our HQ in Maryville, TN 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday) 
  • Must be enrolled in an associate or bachelor's degree program in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or other areas of Business. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Using SAP data for inventory, future usage, lead-times and open orders (quantity due and due date), work with Production Planning Manager and Directory of Planning to:

  • Identify usage variability per material
  • Using standard methodology (variability during leadtime, etc), determine ideal safety stock days
  • Create repeatable process to identify orders which, when delivered/made, will create excess inventory

Physical Demands & Work Environment:  

  • May be required to perform light lifting. Due to the nature of work, may be required to spend an extended time in a sitting position, prolong use of computer, and possible eye strain. 
  • Typical office environment and lighting 
  • Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection required when on factory floor. The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department. This includes safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear. All employees are required to apply ergonomic correctness to all job tasks.
